{"id":1255,"date":"2022-02-11T21:40:44","date_gmt":"2022-02-11T17:40:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/chanting.ge\/?p=1255"},"modified":"2022-02-11T21:46:33","modified_gmt":"2022-02-11T17:46:33","slug":"the-ornamented-chants-of-georgian-chanting","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/chanting.ge\/en\/the-ornamented-chants-of-georgian-chanting\/","title":{"rendered":"The Ornamented Chants of Georgian Chanting"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Ornamented Chants of Georgian Chanting represents the first fundamental work in the Georgian\u00a0academic realm in which a unique occurrence of ecclesiastical chant \u2013 ornamented chants (chrelebi)\u00a0and ornamented chant texts (chrelta nuskhkebi, an original system of writing down a musical melody),\u00a0and other forms known today of showing the \u201cchreli\u201d\u00a0phenomenon in the Georgian chanting tradition\u00a0have been studied.\u00a0Texts preserved in Georgian manuscripts containing ornamented chants will become available for the\u00a0first time to a wider audience, with the accompaniment of high quality visual and audio examples. <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-1250 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/chanting.ge\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/Kda-2-300x295.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"295\" srcset=\"https:\/\/chanting.ge\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/Kda-2-300x295.jpg 300w, https:\/\/chanting.ge\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/Kda-2-768x756.jpg 768w, https:\/\/chanting.ge\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/Kda-2-1024x1009.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/chanting.ge\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/Kda-2-75x75.jpg 75w, https:\/\/chanting.ge\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/Kda-2-750x739.jpg 750w, https:\/\/chanting.ge\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/Kda-2-1140x1123.jpg 1140w, https:\/\/chanting.ge\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/Kda-2.jpg 2048w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The study will be of help to Georgian and foreign scholars, students, and members of the public\u00a0interested in learning about Georgian Christian art. In this aspect, the publication will facilitate the growth\u00a0of the awareness of the art of Georgian chanting in the international academic and art realms.\u00a0This work was supported by Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation of Georgia (SRNSFG)\u00a0[#SP-21-447].
